lesson planning
In order to run an efficient and productive class you need to be prepared. I believe that you need to plan out the specific outcomes that you aim to reach in a lesson, and how you are going to know that your students are meeting theses objectives. Through planning you can discover points that you may have overlooked, and you can address potential problems. Being well prepared contributes to student success. Continuous formative assessment is important to me, and I like to plan when and how I am going to assess and evaluate my students. Creating lesson plans is great professional development. Reflecting on previous lesson plans helps me to develop strong classes and strong units. Reflection and review help me to improve my instructional and assessment methods, this helps students to find success, and helps me as their teacher to know exactly what each student knows.
The majority of the following lesson plans are mainly from PS 2 and PS 3, and are also mainly Phys. Ed. I also have included Health 9 and Religion 9 lessons at the bottom of the page.
At the top of each lesson plan there is the appropriate grade, class duration, and subject at the top. In my PS 2 I had 3 hour long classes, where as in my PS 3 we had 40 minute classes. All of these lessons have been done in class with students. Most files are multiple lessons or a unit.
On many of my lesson plans I make notes after the lesson for future lessons and ideas for my next lesson with that class. Throughout my PS 3 I taught grades 7,8 and 9 PE, I developed a lesson plan template with grade 7 on one side, and grade 8 and 9 on the other, some of the following lessons are in this format. These are some samples of the lessons, and units that I have done throughout my teaching career.
