Teaching the Faith
I have loved teaching the natural compliments of our faith and Physical Education. The virtues developed in every class, especially PE, are the qualities that we value so much. The numerous virtues that are constantly being developed and encouraged in class are brought out naturally in game play, teamwork, leadership skills, and cooperation with each other. As Father Kevin pointed out to us, "Sports magnify the type of person we are."
God wants us to be the best version of ourselves, that is exactly my aim as a Physical Educator. I started pointing out this connection to all my students after our school retreat. God wants us to be the best version of ourselves, both inside and out.
HONESTY - CHARITY - HUMILITY - MEEKNESS - MODERATION - PURITY - SPORTSMANSHIP - RESPECT
Our Faith in Physical Education - Blog Post
With one of my classes I have done a blog for Physical Education. One week I asked my students how Physical Education helps us to reach our district goal of Walking Together. I also challenged them to think about and explain virtues that sport and physical activity develop. The responses from the students were enlightening. The conversation that came with this blog post was very encouraging. In this class there are a lot of athletes and active individuals, for them to see a connection to our faith and their hobbies was a cool connection to make.

Catholic Athletes for Christ
This website has current news about Catholic athletes and sports figures, it allows us to see athletes that are Catholic and how they are celebrating and sharing their faith. It has been a great resource in showing my students and athletes that it is encouraged and important to make Christ a part of our lives, through the things that we love, including sports!
This website also talks about the virtues that sport promotes and develops, as well as allows you to see what other schools, teams and Catholic athletes are doing around the world.

Practicum Semester 2
The virtues and skills developed through sport was tangible with this group, what a great experience working with these young athletes!
We started and ended class with a prayer every day, this was one of my first experiences sharing my faith with my students openly.
